I had one of those 8 plug engines once, and it ran ok on just 4 plugs (4 plug distributor)
Had an S12 run really bad once, it was a piece of paper from the (very old) air cleaner, had come detached and had wrapped itself around the wire sensor inside the airflowmeter. Took me a long time to find that fault. also make sure the start signal wire is connected correctly. if it is accidentally getting power when starter is not operating it will affect timing and also enrich the mixture.

If you find parts are the issue i have pretty much everything apart from an airflow meter (pretty sure s13 is the same)

Thanks, that's good to hear! I changed priority. Needed the dutch AA service for a jump start. Forgot to disconnect the ground cable from the battery yesterday. :s Will update this when there is someting to update about.
