I'd add rust to the con's list, particularly on the rear inner arches. Then there's the head gasket/cracked head problem which they do seem susceptible to. That being said neither of mine suffered it, as far as I know, and that was after one of them overheated when it popped a core plug.
Sadly I can't split out how many 2dr saloon models were sold here, I don't remember many though and I'd have thought most people would have gone for the extra versatility of the 4dr.
I had the beige coupe above from 1989-90, bought for £2250 and sold for £1450. I then bought the filthy 1.3DX saloon for £750 in 1992 to replace a rusty old Opel Manta A, did 40k in it over the next two years and sold it for £175 in the local auctions by which time it was pretty rough.
Even the 1.3 has overdrive on 4th and 5th gears, with the 1.5 having a still taller diff ratio which I recall made it feel not very sprightly. I found the handling of the saloon a bit of a shock after my Manta, it felt very 'tiptoey' but as NC says above it was good on fuel.
I'm definitely not so keen on the later saloon rear end. Estates and coupes didn't change at the back, and the van and 1.3 estate retained their round headlights throughout their life (and would live on for some years, overlapping with the N13/B12 replacement range).
I think the 1.5 estate is the best-looking, bought this one for £25 a few years ago but regrettably it needed too much to get it back on the road so I sold it to a local banger racer after removing a few bits. Still a scratch I feel I need to itch, however...
I've recently bought a 1985 b11 1500 Sunny, great car to drive (it's the auto so really smooth cruising) I'm in the UK too so don't know if that makes it different to some of the Sentra's i've read about..
I'm hoping to find some info, I've got the haynes manual which i've been flicking through, but just for general problems like the carb not running right (I have issues with starting, the car almost doesn't start then splutters for a minute until warm, is this just a carb thing?)
Also there is a lot of black liquid coming out of the exhaust/backbox when i leave it to get warm on the drive (doesn't smell of fuel, again is this another carb thing and nothing to worry about?)
If anyone does have any info or where i could go to find out problems and solutions, would be appreciated.
Nice set of rims on both but shame about those mahoosive front and rear bumpers

That was CKD standard trim part assigned by Nissan Motor Ltd. Japan to Malaysia local assembler specific for this model: USA version 7km/h impact absorber bumper + Laurel Spirit grill. You may view it ugly but Malaysian prefer this big bumper than Japan standard bumper without absorber.
