After a bit of Tommygoldy inspiration I thought I better update the 100a thread. Well its off the road at the mo due to the old ferrous oxide but I am hoping to have her back up and cruising pretty soon (fingers crossed). So jobs were as follows- fit a new wing (drivers side) tidy up wheels arches tidy up sills and remove chrome strips (fill in holes) tidy up front valance. That was the plan anyway but 8 months later the old lass is still off the road. PICS- OH DEAR! More updates on progress soon.

Everything takes time when you're doing it yourself and you have to fit it in around family etc. and al's right there's no point bodging stuff. I've got a wing that's needed fitting since 1995ish...it'll happen! My daughter wants a "pink datsun" when she's old enough to drive

Thanks, it was off the road for 9 months in total, still not finished ( are they ever! ) but I just want to get some miles on the clock for now, would love a pair of decent bumpers if you know of any.

It is surprising what you can still get! Mine came with a brand new bumper on the back seat! (still waiting refit) Keep looking on Fleabay and also put a wanted Ad on here a lot of nice people who have large stocks of parts you cant get anymore!Try Datman (who hosted this forum before) www.datman.co.uk/contact.htm Rattrayspares are also good, phone them. I have a friend up there who gets parts for his 100A from them. www.rattrayspares.co.uk/DATSUN-100A-&-120A-SPEEDO-CABLE-(6574/58)/532.htm I have decided not to aim for perfection just get mine back on the road and used, then do the jobs as work in progress, (Same with my van) that way you are getting to use it and not wasting your money watching them rust on the drive!

Update time. Been a busy year so far! Yikes! Never seen a clutch plate do that before. What were the signs or symptoms?

Leigh (Area rep)Yeah it was a shocker to be honest, I had let the car stand for a couple of months and when I came to move it I couldn't get a gear, turns out the clutch had stuck fast and that was the result of removing it, tbh it was probably the original so I am happy it went when it did. Replacement was £11 iinc postage from eBay.
