Pictures in that link are frickin dope. I am a member over there but don't interact much as it seems geared more towards super high end money type builds... Well,,,,, the ones that actually get finished enough to be drivable anyway.

I know what you mean, does seem to be more about engine swaps and 'stance' than bringing old cars back to life.

This looks brilliant!looking forward to seeing this progress! Thanks. I've got some more parts sitting in customs from Kameari, everything is there for the rebuild. The biggest issue is actually finding someone who wants to rebuild the engine. While that's happening (or not as the case may be) I'll be swapping the suspension bushes, removing the battery tray and painting the engine bay to hopefully have it in some kind of working condition by the summer.

I've been shopping again 8) I wanted the Kameari Engine Works high strength gasket kit and Pit Work paste to put it back together with, ordered some ARP head studs while I was at it, new manifold bolts, studs and washers. A couple dowels as one was missing (or I lost it) and a Pit Work oil filter (just because I wanted a blue Pit Work oil filter) and Kameari through in a couple of stickers 8) I've found someone who I trust with the engine, heading over this weekend to deliver the head for an inspection, measure up and refresh, hopefully it doesn't need too much work. Slow progress, but progress none the less.

A local guy called Glen, an L18 engine he built is currently being used in competition in England.

This lot has assembled itself into a nice looking engine. Still waiting for more parts from Mori-San at Kameari but they're bolt on parts (Race distributor and damper pulley) and then an exhaust to me made up. Slow burn. Top end is still work in progress, getting some large valves cut in and lots of porting done, new bronze guides and titanium springs and hardware. Had the stock sump baffled and winged for more capacity also Kameari forged pistons built up with new stock rods (been told they're the best option still) that have been drilled for more oil flow, ARP bolts and WPC coated Kameari bushings The block painted with the original Datsun blue block paint. Bores have been opened up a bit for the larger pistons, ARP rods, new core plugs (wishing they were bronze and now silver) and some other machine work to get it like new.

Sorry, bad club member, been doing most of my updates on Japanese Nostalgic Car. The engine is built. But not worth of a picture yet as I need to crackle finish the cam cover, clean up the front cover and fit my latest toys. Mori San of Kameari Engine Works has emptied my bank account again. I've got the racing distributor and spindle gear, L6 water pump and their racing damper pulley kit along with their alternator bracket. Apart from getting my custom manifold made and some plug leads and plugs, I'm pretty sure that completes the engine part of this project. suspension and brakes next...
