I should have put a thread of my car before but ended up putting pits and bobs around the site, so better late than never I suppose. What I have just finished doing is refurbishing a old JMD steering wheel that would have been fitted to the bluebird sss from 1971 till around 1973. So its out with the old And in with the new (or is it older)

It was from that wonderful place we all love n' hate called ebay, the wheel its self was shipped from Japan. It needed a fair bit of work including sending it to a guy to trim in leather (paul Darby) who did a nice job!

Another slight change to the car I did a month or so ago was to fit some original headlights, these are Toshiba made units that were fitted to Datsuns from the factory I only had one on the cars but was lucky to get my hands on some more. So it's out with the british wagners and in with the Japanese One of the units I got was slightly different to the others and I think was because it was sold by the uk Datsun dealers as spares? All I need now is to import some Japanese petrol and it will be totally Japanese

I think you may need to swap the alloys, mirrors, seat belts etc before you get 100% japanese certification :-)

I hope this isn't thread jack with my rusty bucket pictures,, but. I think you might be right about the last one being replacements as my car ,, by the looks of it,, has a huge amount of miles and what's in it are just like the last one... Car had sat since about 87 when i got her going about 3 years ago. Nevermind the green event sticker, doctors orders and what-not.
