A month or so ago,, i sold my 4door 510 to fund sheet metal roof,, and got a wild hair to sell my 55 Ford at the same time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, by some miracle they both sold for the price i wanted.. So after they were gone i was stuck driving that stupid 83 280zx turbo ,,,,,, again. 510 leaving Truck is being shipped to Germany of all places. So last week,, I finally finished putting on the stupidly overpriced sheetmetal roofing and had some free time to Craigslist,,, bad idea i know... Came across a 66 411 local that the guy wanted to trade for old cars or motor bikes,,, Frickin A ,,,,,,,,, that sounds just like an ad aimed right for me. :frantics: So we settled on giving him 2 Z50 type cycles that hadn't even been out of the garage in at least 10 years (took 4 hours to move enough shit outta the way to get the first one even to the door) and a few dollars in cash... Offered the blue 71 SL175 up too but he didn't seem to want it. Ended up with a used tampon red 66 411 that has ( by the paper work ) traded hands faster than a doobie at a Allman brothers concert. The 411s past has been summed up in this song Literally the only thing that would make this a "car" is that it can actually drive down road under its own power,,, because of small fire previous owner had that fried the fuse box. Motor smokes and has a severe knock,, and looks toover heat a bit ,, by the brown water stains all over engine bay .. . Windows must leak as there is copious amounts on silicone type material around front and rear windows............ There is a sizeable bondo spots (found with magnet before purchase) behind rear tires. and the head liner is pretty messed up,,,,,,,,, All in all a pretty decent Datsun. Plans are to install an A 14 in got a year or so ago and one of the 2 ,,,,,, yes 2 non dogleg 5speeds in have on the shelf fix the wiring with a harness out of one of the parts car 411s i have in back and bomb it around for at least this winter. Long term plans have always been ( have been collecting parts for years) 4Age swap for the noise it puts out,,  What does this piece of shit look like? ? Well in that respect it shines like a diamond . Previous owner loved the car ( car cover and such),,, but it looked like it was just was falling apart in every way and if you know anything about these,, the parts are pretty much non-existent. Insurance sticker from the time it must have spent in Mexico. My friend Tyler mentioned i should have kept the Z50s ,,,,,,, he's probably right. Never used the picture link before,,, we will see if it works in 3...... 2.....

Parts cars that one of which will give it's harness ,,, for science. This is the style i was looking for as the don't have such a pronounced rear end droop ,, but when the fickle hand of fate hands you something you should just go with it... That and the later style goes for quite a bit more than a couple junk scooters and the cash you have on hand on a Sunday.. Engine that will be eventually put in car,, with of course a Corolla intake and RWD trans i will go out and take pictures of the greaseball A14 that is going in first ,,, soon.

411 is nice but I love that red truck. Early 50s Ford? I'd have that over the Datsun.

True ,, but i sold the truck to fund a 47 chevy rat-rod project and add a lean-to on to the garage to fit a newly acquired 65 Ford ranchero that is a 289 V8 4speed "car" from the factory. The cash i used was the left over from the 510 sale,, the truck money just made it a easy decision to blow some cash like a rap star..

They're all cool cars, we don't get many over here, there is a growing 'scene' but maybe spot 1 old American classic a month. Interested to read about your other projects, got any build threads?

You got a crazy good eye for weird cars man.. That ranchero has got a 351 cobra jet engine stock from the factory,, combine that with it being a Squire version (fake wood paneling) and not a GT as would be normally ordered with that engine ,, that raggedy piece of junk (my description) i assume is pretty rare.

Yeah i have a couple short ones here,, but my bigger older ones are on a different website... Remember the guy who made fun of you being a cheapskate Datsun guy cuz you kept even the engine rods when you got your coupe shipped? ?? That was me The truck was put together in about 98(?) so no building type threads,,, that and the "hotrod" guys while in person are really fun to hang around with in person... Kinda jerks online since they are usually older guys that have lost their sense of adventure and fun in building things that may or may not make it to the meets,,, so i read on those sites but never post.

Might have something to do with me growing up with weird cars My old man had a Gran Torino Country Squire Station version, with a 451 cleveland (from factory). Holy crap that thing was powerful. Like a dragracer. Wasn't very fuel-efficient to say the least.. My mom always did the groceries with it also with the fake wood paneling. rotted to hell, never taken care of. Real shame, rare one. Sold it to some guy in Germany, i'll try to find some pics.

That post was lost in translation. I found 8 broken pistons, 4 rods, loads of bottom end shells, springs etc all inside the car. Hoarder for broken parts! What was inside the engine was worse LOL One day I'll get an old American truck

" I try to use way less american slang when i'm over in you guy-es part of the interwebs now. No more using, bacon toast up your trunk lid for sure.

Too much whisky to even begin to decipher that How much did you get for the truck? I keep looking at it and then look out at the drive and wish I had one parked up.
