Hi all I did just buy a Nissan Cedric V30 GL. The car was imported from Japan in Spain in 1987 by the Japanese embassy of Madrid. In 1999 the embassy did sell/give to the Nissan Dealer in Madrid. A car collector did buy it , not because he liked it so much but because it costed next to nothing and was very rare in Spain. Then It did stand for 18 years in his warehouse and did do only 400 km in this time. Here a video of the warehouse where it did stand : warehouse (its the first car you see in the video) The man is almost 70 year old now and wants to reduce his collection! So I ended up with a Nissan that looks like new and no rust at all and only 137600 km :-) Now my Question: The seller told me its a Nissan Cedric Y30, but on the back it says Nissan Cedric V30 GL. On Wiki I find that the Y30 in europe is a 300c 300cBut when i look on the engine pictures they all have a big square block saying 3000 on the intake manifold (is that injection ?) Mine does have just a simple round air filter and I think just a simple carburetor! does that mean that I dont have any electronics to run the engine? What engine do i have? On Wiki I find that the car has e VG30S engine but looking at pictures of that I still find many engine with the big block on top! does anyone has or know workshop manuals for this car and this engine? regards Frank

Hi If you could upload some pictures of the engine bay (and car) of your Nissan 300c (Y30) we would love to see them. The model name (as most Datsun/Nissan changed depending on what country the car was sold in. We will be able to help identify the engine. I suspect like 300C we got in the UK it will be a VG30e with an auto box with an over drive (only the wagon got manual) The info on the engine is quite easy to get and it was also used in the Nissan Laurel (C32) and the Nissan 300zx (Z31) Nissan Pathfinder(WD32) of the same era with some differences ( like ecu, sensors etc depends on car to which the VG30 was fitted) VG30 Engine

I think some European countries did get a VG30S engine. I will see if I have any brochure photos or information in the Y30 workshop manual.
