Good morning all, I'm the latest recruit to this club. I'm now based in Norfolk, and would be pleased to hear from any fellow Datsun enthusiasts in this area. My story is that on 31st December 1973 I became the extremely proud owner of an Aubergine (1st car of this colour to be brought into the country) 180B SSS. It was purchased from the dealer in Doncaster at tax free - as I was exporting it to Germany. I enjoyed it there for 18 months, before bringing it back to Doncaster for my father to use whilst I went to Hong Kong for 2 years. Shortly after my return to these shores, my 1st son arrived and I reluctantly traded the Datsun Coupe for an Audi Saloon. The reason for this tale is; I would love to own this car again, or at least know of it's current state and whereabouts. It was registered as SYW 193M. It is known on the DVLA database, but is not currently registered. I'm confident it should be in quite reasonable nick, as once in Germany I had the car thoroughly Dinitrol treated - which is an extremely good rust protection treatment for those not in the know. So, where is she - Aubergine coloured 1974 model Datsun 180B SSS registered as SYW 193 M? Can anyone help?

Hi Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but accordingly to DVLA records, it was last taxed back in 1986. Unless someone has kept it off road for last 30+ years, it is most likely that SYW was scrapped. FWIW, there are 10 or so 180bSSS ( 610 coupes currently on UK roads) Cheers
