The car is not really rotten has surface rust. She not been looked after. Current plans are to get her road worthy with Mot and Tax and use her. I think i went well over the top with the wagons and hardly use them but this one i really want to use as a daily. So i will probably treat the rust theres a small bit of welding to do at the back quarted behind the wheel primer the bits up so they dont get to bad over winter. I just really want to enjoy driving her on a daily basis

that looks like an old 610 back box bodged on. Car looks saveable! The rear subframes are different on early 810, check to see if yours has a hole through which the exhaust passes. Depends what month it was made. Later ones have exhaust going over the subframe. THe two exhaust systems are different.

This is great news! Really pleasing to hear it's going to see the road again. It was certainly pretty solid when I bought it in 1996/97, then ran it as my daily driver for a year or so until I moved onto a C210. I think I was possibly the second owner, I didn't actually meet the gentleman who owned it before me (not sure if he was ill or had died). 1978 Datsun 180B in Medler's Scrapyard by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr It seemed to have had some new panels fitted at the front when I bought it, wings were possibly non-genuine and it was missing the chrome trims surrounding the grille and headlights. Will sorted me out a set of them. It had a pair of Autosafe mirrors on it during my ownership (I fitted the LH one), they seem to have gone. Odd that it's ended up with Laurel/Skyline alloys on it, just like I did - thought they suited it really well, in some markets they were fitted to them from new.

Lol yeah carpet will need sorting afterwards, spoke with Will today and gave him the parts order hopefully picking up Friday evening. Also had to order a windscreen as it has to many mist patches. Took out the floor carpets to air out. The front wings are very solid definetly not original as they don't have to mirror slots on top. Clutch seems very spongy so will probably have to change slave cylinder. I think I read somewhere the car was fitted with a 5 speed but not now which was a disappointment. I was wondering if (spotted laurel) you would have any pics of the rear of the car, thanks

I was wondering if (spotted laurel) you would have any pics of the rear of the car, thanks Yes, Will fitted a 5-speed into it that I sourced from a 910 SSS in a local scrapyard. I'd imagine it would have had a new clutch too at that time (1997), and I definitely remember it getting a new slave cylinder as it failed on me one day. The 'box probably had done a few miles however, so presumably it got fitted with the 4-speed now in it when it failed or got too bad. I certainly do have loads more photos of it (outside, interior, underbonnet etc), but they're from pre-digital days and it doesn't look like I have any more in my Flickr account. I'll try and get some scanned-in when I can. 1978 Datsun 180B + 1979 280C at Medler’s c.1997 (+Galant) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Above in my early days with it. I have found a left front door trim in black. I have a n.o.s RH front door. I have a n.o.s. lh rear door but its for a wagon so the window frame is a different shape. (frame from old door could be welded in instead) i have the exhaust parts. W

Hooray, another 810 saved! Great that it has some history in the DOC too.

Thank you very much, seeing photos of I looking good makes me want to do it up more. I love seeing old photos of my cars. Went down to Wills last night and picked up loads of goodies.
