Hi All, Am a newbbie not really posted much as i never had the Datsun of my dreams. For years wanted a 180b. Saw a mint brown 180b in a photo from NEC and another at some gathering and my heart sank. Joined this forum months back hoping someone would have one but nothing was avalible. Until one day Will (AKA Datman ) phoned and told me he has one for me. After several conversations adn sleepless nights i went down to Will's to see for myself. Had not seen one in over 20 years. My heart sank and i was speechless when i first saw her. I immediately put a deposit down and waited patiently for the phone call from Will to tell me to pick her up. Will was sorting out an M.O.T and varies other jobs for me. She had been standing for about 8 years in a garage so breaks and kick down were needing some attention. Then Will had discovered that the radiator needed replacing and that was a nightmare but he got one and sorted it. The phone call came CARS MOT'D. I was down in a flash, It might sound stupid but i was so exicted a car i was hunting for for years, a car my parents had and we went everywhere in it. I just had to get down to bring her home. The happiest man ever. I sat in her for ours the first night OH MY GOD. Even my Dad joined me we were remebering the good old days. My dad use to do all the work himself and was well happy. So a few days late me and my Dad started work. Basic service first, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, dizzy cap , arms, points, airfilter. Running beautiful and still cant believe its auto with only 66,000. The plans are not to restore her this year as i want to enjoy driving her in the summer but do all the other little fiddly bits. Then put her away for winter. At the end of winter she will be full restored ready for next summer. I want to make a really mint just like the standard of the brown one on here. Couple of things done today. The radio and clock was not working. At the same time i thought i would freshenup her instrument panel and replace all bulbs. Mission complete. At the same time took of the door card as i want to fit speaker in the doors. Doors in briilant condition. By the way the only modification will be 2 front door speakser 2 rear speakers in the shelf and under the glove box a cd player. Here the result with all the bulbs changed much brighter Havent washed her yet just sorting bits out put her away to sleep and will wash and wax tomorrow. A couple of random photos as well. went out a bought some new matts. Cleaned all the interior all the seats carpets dashboard door trims roof lining, you name it it was done apart from the engine bay. I really love this car so so much and cant wait to drive her on the roads. I am awaiting for my insurance cover note for the tax. I am very worried of driving her as i live in middlesex and drivers around her dont care what they hit and seing a previous post of a guy bringing his car out and it being hit scares me more. Thanks for showing me that photo car looks stuning. You can see it there with a sunroof. If anyone has any photos from the past please please post them up or as much history as possible. Will told me alot but i would love to see pictures. The car came with some photos of her being restored about 10years ago. Anyway less talking heres the result hope you like. spent most of the weekend modifying and loads of wiring. Loads of pain now in my back and arms but worth the result. Well basically the only mod i really want to do to her is just sound. I love to have quality sound whilst driving. Not like the boom boom sound but mid range and high end. I did not want to make serious modifications to her just really want to keep standard so have to use MDF and carpet for all this to work. I started of with removing the rear shelf and slightly cutting the existing whole for some nice Apline 6x9's. Used the old shelf as a stencle and cut a new shelf out of MDF. Then had to match the existing interior carpet so it all looks factory.Loads of fiddling around trying to get a really good fit with the new shelf but got there in the end. I had also come across a brake light that goes in the centre of the rear shelf tucked away so stuck that on to. Had to remove all the interior side trims to run alll the wires from front to back. Was shocked on the condition under all the trims. So now i had to deign an area to fit the Alpine head unti without cutting the car. Only place was to make something out of MDF to fit under the glove box. Had to move back the heating pipe back, other things needed slight modification but not bad. The boot area well not many areas to mount the amp so again MDF. The original rear boot covering is a plastic grey colour panel so i covered that in carpet gave it more support and mounted MDF on it for the amp. Then i sprayed the whole boot area black so it all looks the same. Welll it was alot of hard work to ensure i keep the car from having any major modifications but at a really high standard. I think it took me about 17 hours. (BLODY HELL). Just waiting for some front door cards for the front speakers as i decided not to cut the originals. Pictures below hope you like. Thought i would give the engine bay a makeover and shine up some chrome. started like this Old pics here www.flickr.com/photos/7430965@N05/4051707169/

This is the garage that cars dream of. Lol, I had this garage made just for when I decided I want an 810 Datsun. When I did get DJT home it wasn't even finished. DJT sleeps peacefully

Just added some more photos I had. The previous thread use to be quiet long. Reason for the update on this old thread is because she was recently delivered back home from storage. I remembered when I first got her I use to be picture mad. Go places just to take nice photos. What happens to those days. Bills get bigger and hours of fun become smaller and this she should of been completed years ago. Here some pics, excuse the wheels I'm still looking for an original set
