Not offhand .... but look at the handbook? As far as I am aware, most or all of our Datsuns were designed for "2 star" unleaded petrol. They also (mostly?) have aluminium alloy cylinder heads and so must have valve seat inserts (so hardened?). As todays fuel is effectively 3+ star unleaded, we can use the timing suggestions prescribed by Datsun or even advance a few /couple of degrees. But you need to hear from the like of Alan or Will for an answer to rely upon! Ed

I've run all my Datsun on unleaded. Somewhere I have a leaflet Nissan published about 1990 saying what cars could run on it and whether any needed their timing to be adjusted. If I remember I'll dig it out and scan it in.

Just found a poster confirming that all F10/N10 models from 1978 can run on unleaded without ignition adjustment. I don't know about pre-78, they probably didn't bother listing them (no info for any model prior to this date).

Hi thanks for looking,
So not 100% sure, but maybe A10 Cherry owners can help out? What do you fill up?

Unleaded is fine (in my 1979 F10 F-II 100A). Unleaded petrol became compulsory in Japan in 1976 (long before we switched over) so the engines are ok.
