Hi everyone! I'm Jim, 16 years old and i'm from the Netherlands. I absolutely love old Datsuns! Now you may ask yourself, how does a young guy like me end up liking Datsun's so much? Well, i'll tell you. It all started with a movie i watched as a little kid, and someone got kidnapped in a Laurel. I immediately thought, that's a cool car! So i asked my dad what kind of car it was, and he responded ''some kind of Nissan''. He wasn't really into Datsuns. Of course, me being around 5 years old, i didn't do any research behind it. And so i went out to play with friends. Over the years, i grew more and more interested into Datsun's. A few years ago, i started searching for such a Laurel. I've now been searching for over 3 years i think, and up until a few weeks ago, i was starting to think i was never going to find one, but i got very lucky! A few weeks ago i went to a Datsun meeting in the Netherlands, and i met someone who knew someone who had one sitting in his garage. Me of course being overexcited, i went ahead and reached out to the owner. He was very kind, and showed me some pictures. Before i knew it i was standing next to it, amazed by how great it's condition was. Unfortunately i couldn't take it home immediately, because there is place for it at the moment. After the winter we'll rebuild the barn, so it has a warm and rust free place to stay. According to rdwdata.nl (dutch vehicle registration department) there are only seven 240L Laurel's left in Holland, so i think this is a one in a life time opportunity. I'm of course too young to get a drivers license yet, but that gives me plenty of time to work on it and get the money needed for the necessary parts. I think that's about it, cheers! PS: Before anyone asks, no, it's not for sale don't think i'll ever sell it.

Well done,Jim, and welcome. You have now joined the select few. You also have the pleasure of standing out from the crowd with a make of car that makes people stare, that should be very reliable and give you LOTS of pleasure. I think we need to see some more photos. By the way, your English is very good.

Certainly an unusual, but very interesting first car. Looks like a manual too, just like my C230 Laurel.
