Diff interchangability? s13 200sx into c32 laurel? (Read 456 times)

As above really, struggling to find a replacement for my c32 laurel welded diff. I see that the c32 and s13 share the same R200 diff, can they be swapped over as i know of one going cheap and they are more common. Thanks.

Gearing is possibly different, but you should be able to combine the two to get your Laurel back to an open diff.

There are LSD S13 diffs that need different driveshafts.

R200 was also in late S130 manuals, S12's (again prob only manuals)

(i assume yours is a late C32 with IRS) All S12 had R200 but auto different ratio. The Z31 also had R200 (and the S14) Not sure if there are some differences in the casings.
I remember a friend putting an S13 LSD into an S12 silvia years ago but I can't remember what he had to do , possibly changing part or all of the casing and I vaguely remember him shortening a driveshaft spline and cutting a new circlip groove, something like that.

I put a Z31 turbo R200 (3.4:1 ratio I think) into a C210 (R180) once and used 260Z driveshafts to get it to work. Wasn't LSD though. I had to make a new mount for the rear casing.

Any ideas on an LSD for a C32 ?
Going to be racing one next season and really need an LSD

Again, you need to state whether it's IRS or live axle.

Assuming this is the 1.8 import car?

Yours is an early C32 so if UK sold it would have had a live axle, but because it's a JDM car, you'll need to check what is fitted...

Oh and the live axle UK sold cars had a H190 diff. Likely yours is the same.

Doubt there's an LSD readily available.

Take it you're building a drift car? thought all you guys did was weld the diff up....?

I feel envious about your E30 being RWD, my one spins all four wheels when I try to wheel spin / get the arse out! Bloody factory 4x4!
