Hello there,
I've tried to upload a picture but it says there is no space. I live in Manchester and I have a 1978 120y 4 door which I would like to do up to use...it starts and has a new battery but is not yet insured (suggestions) and it needs to go somewhere for an MOT, where it will need some Welding but hopefully not too much and some bits and bobs doing...Should I get it transported somewhere or just book an MOT and drive it there? It has been sat for a year outside though. If it fails it's MOT then I would have to have it transported back again so ideally it would be an MOT station that can do the work so I can leave it. I would like to then use it for a few months before getting a rear seat belts fitted and a respray. Can anyone recommend somewhere that can do this and that is sympathetic to old cars and not too expensive please? Thanks, Kindest Regards, Jo x

I recommend you check www.fbhvc.co.uk/legislation-and-fuels/historic-vehicle-friendly-mot-stations/ as there is an extensive list of classic friendly mot stations. I went to one in Bracknell with my 120y (B211) and it was a pleasure. I believe you can drive an non-mot'd car to a pre-booked test or to get a failed vehicle repaired. I put new inertia reel seat-belts in the front of mine but still have the lap-belts in the back as it looked too much of a job. Good luck getting it back on the road. Yours would bring it up to 25 on the road.
