Hi, The ca18et is running, but not very smooth. When I set the timing on 15 B.T.D.C the distributor is almost turned completly to the right, not even close to the center of the adjustment slot. Is that a worry or ok? If it's not, then i might have slipped the timing belt a teeth when putting it on the engine..

Could be either the dizzy or the belt that's a tooth out. The belt doesn't just slip. If the dizzy is a tooth out and you still adjust it to 15 degs it doesn't matter.
I'd be checking the obvious stuff and then fuel pressure and whether the fuel lines are round the correct way.

Easy to check cam timing with only taking off top belt cover. Yes check that fuel pressure using a tee. Check airflowmeter does not have any dirt, they are very sensitive , I had a S12 run like crap and it was a piece of fluff in the tiny hole where the sensing wire is in the airflowmeter.

The engine has a twin spark head, but I used a single spark dizzy and the plugs on the fuelrail side are connected, the plugs on the exhaust side are dummies. Can it be that there is some diffirence between the twin spark and the single spark heads? Thanks for all the reply's so far. I'll check everything when I'm in the shed again.
