On Saturday the work began ... By lunch time it was ready to take out the engine ... Someone kept the car going ... but not without a filter !!! During the afternoon we have a big thunderstorm and were left without lights (sorry for the poor picture quality...) Above all I am very happy with the excellent state of the whole car making the stripping down very easy without breaking any bolts, etc

Clever idea for the air filter. That said, bought one the right shape for £8-00. Beautiful car; congratulations! Leigh (Area rep)

The 2 dr 510s were only sold in the USA ... I think all other countries only had the 4 dr, and Japan and South Africa the Coupe

Not sure of the year of the car but when you look at the instrumentation and, in particular, the multi-pin wiring connectors in the engine compartment bulkhead, you can see just how far ahead of the European cars the Japanese were in terms of superior equipment and quality items.
I remember those blasted bullet connectors and spade terminals that plagued my Austin/Morris (BLMC) Ford and Vauxhall cars. Poor earthing was another feature.

Some goodies also arrived during the week ... Some Cibie Oscar covers: High energy electronic distributor system: Full set of suspension bushes! - The flywheel has gone in to a machine shop to lose some weight and balancing - The Koni shocks refilled and adjusted for stiffness. - The diff has also gone to be altered - LSD ...
