Looks fantastic. What will you use it for? Please say you will do classic /historic rallies with it! Spotted the roll cage. Just hang on though - you may not be allowed to do some events (eg road rallies I think) if multi coloured paint - believe it or not. So check MSA blue book carefully before painting etc? Ed

I'd walk a fair few miles just to see that mate.
Awesome.

Nice!!! But thats a B310!! Okay.... time to come clean. Didn't realise that some of you would think that the picture IS my car. The pic is just to show the vinyl wrapping and (for Al and Will) some cool rims that I would like to apply in the "not too distant future". I would also add some No2 roundels (2 is my lucky number!) and the odd Datsun logo. Other than that it would be a bog-standard A10 sss. Sorry to disappoint you. Leigh (Area rep)

a wrap would be a bad idea, (and cost thousands probably) solid vinyl would be fine. Be worth getting some opinions on your real mockup picture before giving the job the go ahead. So have you already chosen wheels like that?

interesting....
i thought vinyl would be pretty cheap. i've asked a local printer/grafics/sign writer about doing some stuff on one of my old cars.
so you'd be looking at keeping the base white and then adding stripes n stuff to it?

Leigh (Area rep) Dont do it ! whats the point in dressing up as a wolf only to be outrun/outfoxed by sheep ? Competition/rally style decals/stripes and starting grid numbers on a car that has bog standard suspension brakes and 90bhp dont mix well in my books. If you want to pay homage to the motorsport roots of the marque, do it properly with period correct livery and modifications and some simple (cheap) upgrades to running gear. You did ask for opinions eh?

It will look just about ok to anyone who can recognise that they might be Datsun colours, but to everyone else (99.99%) it will look crap.
My mate Neil bought a 910 with painted on Datsun racing stripes and it looked crap and anyone that saw the car probably thought 'what a helmet'.
Hopefully that will discourage you Leigh lol

I'm inclined to err towards the 'no' stripes' side of things. Some nicely chosen wheels and maybe even a touch of lowering maybe, but otherwise I think the cars we have on here are sufficiently rare that they'll stand out and look interesting without any additional stuff on the outside of them.
Leave the silly mod's to VW etc owners!

ok. my thoughts on this... firstly you've gotta do this for you and not to please anyone else otherwise you'll never be happy with it. now, as for what i'd do if i was you... i'd fit some period alloys of your choice, so wolfrace, vecs, or my preference, some Japanese tuning wheels or copies of. in either 13,14 or 15 inch. again, depending on what you like. Mr Ratley has some nice proper Japanese wheels here uk.ebid.net/perl/main.cgi?mo=user-store&title=ratdats-rare-rimsor there's a few copies out there. i'd lower it to suit the wheels and tyres fitted. so maybe 20mm rear, 30-40mm front to keep it usable and not have to get into anything exotic or expensive. keeps it all fairly standard. now if i was going to go for some kind of graphics, most importantly i'd want it to look good. and in all honesty, that B310 doesn't look great in my opinion. and the same with that 910 4door that Martins mentioned. i'd go for something more like these. not so fussy and a bit more tastefull i think. but, i don't think your car needs any graphics, it's a good looking car already.

Some good ideas here. Please be assured that I am not offended by any of your thoughts (but I do prefer those that agree with me.... hee hee..) ;D Still fancy the vinyl (not wrapped then) theme and I like the look of the actual race cars but maybe they seem more fussy than my original post "You can please some of the people all of the time; all of the people some of the time; but you can't please all the people all of the time" as the saying goes Leigh (Area rep)
