My name's Jo and I've just joined the forum thingy as I've just bought a datsun 1980 280zx - on impulse! It has no mot! I've never owned a classic, done any restoration, have nowhere to store it, have no experience and no mechanical skills either!! I gather datman must be the fella to talk to about these and surprise! - I'm after a windscreen! I have been very rash in buying this and hope its not going to be a big mistake! Do you think i'm going to have a real problem with this? can anyone help? Are there some key things that I should be wary of with this model? Any general advice would be much appreciated!! Does anyone undertake restoration work? Phew!
Thanks Jo

Hello, Jo. You have chosen a good marque for a classic car. The Datsun brand (Nissan) is well known for reliability. Many "barn finds" have been started up after many years in storage with very little effort, to prove the point. The 280zx has featured in this forum and articles can be found by going into the search feature. Apart from Datman (Will), who is very knowledgeable, there are plenty of others who have expertise; and people like me who need their help and can just about tinker with cars. Also check Ebay for parts as I know that your model regularly comes up there. And these; www.carandclassic.co.uk/www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/Leigh (Area rep)

Right i sent an email to classics@pilkington.com and they do the windscreens in blue bronze clear or green with or without a shade band, price depends on your location and what colour you need, so they are available and any windscreen fitter that uses pilkington can get them.
