couple of mods to the laurel. firstly new wheels, had these on for a while but haven't been able to pictures up so here they are. lotus excel compo, speedlines. took far to long to strip and polish by hand but well worth it. centre bores machined to Nissan fitment and stud holes countersunk to accept the inserts from the laurels original wheels. then had plates laser cut for the centres and ptfe blokes made to take the central fixing for centre caps.     pig to keep polished, but suit the car so well its worth it. secondly ive always fancied a set of JDM fender mirrors. never been able to get the right set until these popped up on ebay and best off all they were only 3 miles from my house. described as new old stock chrome mirrors they suited the bill, bid, won, collected. first up was to etch prime them and the satin black. then remove the old door mirrors and fill resulting hole with expanding foam,  then made some cover plates from some plate and covered in some vinyl  then remove wings, cut weird shape holes and fit mirrors, refit wings and, BOOM JDM fender mirrors. frickin love em.   best or worst off all, which ever way you look at it, after some research the mirrors turned out to be genuine mazda rx3 items and are worth a small fortune. theres a manky second hand set on ebay for hundreds of pounds and mine were brand new, bargain. not to mention I had change from £20, lol. |
