Hello. I am from Norway, and have a 1974 100A. I just moved, so I am going to build a new workshop this year, hopefully ready in a year or so. I would like to "prebuild" the engine as I have space for that now. I am not sure what engine/gear I can use, as for now, Im interested in just what engine to use, and what gearbox that will fit in my car without cutting up the hole thing. I am doing a ITB efi conversion, so what block/head and gearbox will fit in my 100A? I find it hard to figure out what Norwegian models I can look for parts in, so i appreciate all the hint and tips I can get

hello and welcome.
what will fit depens on how good you are at making stuff fit. so unless you want to make a complete front subframe and all the mounts that go with it then you're going to be limited as to what you can use.
for bolt in, you could use a A12, A14 or A15 engine and you could also fit a 5 speed from a 120A N10 coupe. even then you will have to mess around sorting out gear linkage, clutch and maybe alternator mounts.
hopefully others with better experiance then me will be able to give you more advice.

Thanks for the fast reply! Does anyone know what Norwegian models that came with the A12,14,15? Should I just use the gearbox from the A10 engine, or should i swap this as well? Making a new subframe would be ok, its just that I dont want to do that on this car. Its a one owner car in good shape, needs some new paint and finish, and a ok/durable engine with some power in it. Would also need to find some other break parts, cause the originale breaks are crap.. Alternator should be ok to fit, and with a distrubitorless system that part is also ok, same for the air filter that I see others had some problems with due to the taller block on the A14/15 if I got that right. Would love to hear if anyone had some tips on what the best choise for engine/gearbox would be, and where to find it

the brakes are indeed rubbish on these. they might improve if they are stripped down and freed up but they're still gonna be weak.
the brakes on my old F11 120A coupe were a lot better (i think they had a servo too) you could also look for an early A series powered N10 for upgrade parts. and look at using the whole engine/gearbox and struts/brakes.
i never did upgrade my E10 so i can't offer much more help then that.
