Seems to be a fair amount of 70's models are exported these days, like Al says, the interest will always be in established known classics. There is still a lot of prejudice against Datsun's in the classic car press, people seem to be more interest in covering their drive way with MGB's and Escorts.

There is still a lot of prejudice against Datsun's in the classic car press, people seem to be more interest in covering their drive way with MGB's and Escorts. You must remember that, whilst us Datsun/Nissan elite are the (undiscovered) champions of the Classic Car scene , there are many other brands/makes and models that are cherished by their owners with the same fervor as us (some of our members may indeed have Fords and MGs), and that without them there would be less of a Classic Car scene. The positive I take from our small numbers is that, when I go to a Classic Car event, I get LOTS of attention!!!

well said Leigh.
i certainly have no problem with other car brands or there owners. i've owned many different makes of old cars.
my frustration is that, even the guys who are into old Nissans, alot of them are reluctant to put a high price on them, unless they're selling....
so when people in other countries are willing to pay good money for a car, why shouldn't the seller sell it to them?

I always love turning up to a car show/meet in my Datsun (or any of the other oddball cars I have) as it can often get as much or even more attention than the classics that fetch ££££s, just because its unusual. Thats priceless to me I remember when I parked my silly shortened Mini next to a Lambo in town, there was a guy about to take a pic of the Lambo on his phone, but when i turned up he forgot about that and took pics of my Mini instead LOL
