I need to make this more straight forward.
maybe everyone who joins the forum becomes a club member but have an opt out clause?
or maybe, once you've posted over a certain number of times you become a club member, but have the option of signing up as well?
or leave it as is. with the forum as the forum. and a separate sign up for the club?
or just ignore the separate club part and just have a forum....

I think the forum should represent the club as it should but then have a full member section where you can get more benifits and maybe a club sticker or something! Maybe a small fee of a few quid could be paid for each full member to cover costs of stickers and any extra can go into a club account so we can pay fees or make big banners for shows etc!! I think this is a good chance to make this a proper club rather than just a load of people chatting and getting together for the odd meet! I think we can really make a name for ourselves with this

........ Plus I read the announcement and it doesn't really state the difference between the "forum" and the "club" or how to join?? The forum should be the basis of the club thus the same thing BUT full members (potentially paying for the previlege?) should have a section that is just for them as well as other benifits like club stickers or first choice for shows etc.
In my experience with many other car clubs a small fee won't put off the true enthusiasts and helps build up the club and resources!

insurance usually ask for club membership details but it doesn't have to be a club associated with the make of car. my Honda S800 club membership is good enough for the Datsun
another reason for joing a registered club is for some motorsports events which require a club membership which is recognised by the MSA. again the S800 one is good enough for that as well.
