so.. due to the high milage i rack up, i figured i really should get myself something suitable for daily duties. had to be over 20 years old to go on my insurance, reliable, comfortable, and cheap to run. so when i spotted this nice looking sunny 1.4 LX on ebay i had to bid on it. had to go AWOL to pick it up, so not too far and worth the trip. it's a one owner from new, 24K miles, never been welded survivor. bone stock, but suffering from some crash damage. dented in R/H front wing and badly resprayed L/H wing and bonnet. pics off advert so. plans... most important will be to get under it and clean it up and paint and wax oil the hell outa it. but also will be getting some simple sporty looking upgrades. such as the alloys i've already fitted, plus some GTI bits like rear spoiler, side skirts and GTI-R seats and front bumper. and a small amount of lowering.

I had a sunny gti same colour free off a mate because it had been stolen and used in a ram rade as a get away car it got away (they are fast lol) but had abit of damage to the bumper ... It was a great car never let me down apart from the starter motor I just parked on hills lol.
Nice cars and not too far of the gtir but with out the silly insurance.
Good find .

it's a decent spec with power steerng, lecy windows and lecy sunroof. and still has a 1.4 twin cam so good on fuel as well as being in the cheap tax band.
very impressed with it so far.

oh. only thing don't like is the indicator is on the wrong side. so i bought a JDM import wiper/indicator stalk to put it back on the right, right side. but the wiring plug is different so i'll need to got one of them too.

This makes me giggle every time I go from my car to my wifes im turning on the window wipers to go round corners and forgetting to put the clutch down when I get to a round about and forget her brakes arnt 30 years old and give my self whiplash lol. Also means you cant drive just using your right hard so that sucks.

i've got the JDM/old UK spec, Right operated indicator fitted and wired up and working now much better. also sorted out a few gtir bits for it. but the main thing is it drives great and seams to be pretty dam good on fuel. hopefully i'll keep hold of this for a while
