Morning All Thought it was about time I posted and said hello, I've been signed up for a bit, but now i have my car on the road thought i'd write a proper post, My name is Gary and I live in Swansea here's my old Datsun, Its got a L26 up front with twin 1' 3/4 HS6 SU's , janspeed header, electonic igntion, 5 speed box, R200 diff, New floors and frame rails and various bits of other welding, 15 x 9 + 10 banded steels, coilovers, 4 pots toyota callipers up front and 280 disc's on the back, Theres a bit of a build thread over on RetroRides which I think I have talked to a few of you on. Took the 240z up to Japfest on Saturday for its first proper outing and was a good show but a bit disapointed at the lack of early cars, but the car ran great up there and back, Is there any shows that are more about early JDM and not full of subaru's ?

Gary
Welcome- been following the 240z threads on other forums. Well done with the build so far, very impressive.
As for other shows which have early JDM, the only one that comes to mind is retro rides gathering ( which in my opinion is the BEST classic car show to attend).
JAE started with early Japanese cars but about 6-7 years ago became a subaru, lexus, primera car park and I gave up attending.
Retro Cars used to do a show at Santa Pod and that had a decent early Japanese car attendence as well...

Thanks Datsfun,
I've heard the RetroRide show was real good, its in my calender to attend,
I supose there is'nt that much classic jap stuff about judging by the amount of welding mine needed and the others i have looked at in the past,
Shame really lookin at photo's from shows in other countries there are some many cars i would like to see in the metal,
Is the the club planing on any outing's to other shows before retro ?

Nice to see a early Z too. I like what you've done to it. You might want to keep an eye on the retro cars event at santa pod too - usually in August and pretty easy to get to.
