Hi guys. Went into the loft with dad this evening and going through some boxes and dad pulled out this little beauty. Behold the Nissan MID4 concept car. This model kit is quite rare. The mid4 was the Nissan's first car i believe to use their Attessa four wheel drive system!

Nice find! I think I have that one in my stash. Also got this earlier version: Revell 1:24 Nissan MID4 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr I think Nissan came very close to putting this car into production, but it never quite made it. I have quite a few articles about it in the archive.

It's interesting to see the differences between the two. I wonder which one is more "realistic"?

I think both are, it's just how it evolved over the years.

Could you email some scans if possible - i think the main reason they put it off was due to it being expensive to produce. It then evolved to the 300zx and it also used the VG30DETT. Dad say Nissan shipped it over to the UK for the British Motor Show. I think there is a picture of it somewhere will need to dig it out

I even have the odd brochure on the early model, Nissan did this for their prototypes and concept cars that were displayed at shows.

I remember it from the 1985 Earls court Motorfair. I took a crappy pic of the earlier model. Don't think the 2nd one ever made it as a show car here. They also issued brochures for the Mid4, which folded out into a poster.
