Hi, Uncle Silvia pointed me your way, I'm after some advice on lowering my Bluebird, he thinks Honda coilover sleeves will fit, I have some floating around that I'm going to try but we are going to be running 14" wheels and need real lows which means proper coilies in my opinion. Does anybody have any idea of anything from the Nissan range will fit? I've been toying with mk1 golf stuff and adapting them but would prefer an easier option if possible. I've been quoted £800+ for custom coil overs and thats just well out of our budget for the project. Any help or advice would be really useful. Thankyou.

Will S13 coilovers fit a bluebird? Afraid not, looked at that option. There is nothing really similar to the bluebirds set up. The only option was modifying a set. We took some MK1 Golf coilovers, the fronts bolted almost straight on, just had to enlarge the holes slightly. The rears are a nightmare though. The shock is factory welded into the arm. We cut the shock, then die grinded all the weld, this allowed the remainig part of the shock to be removed. We then cut a slit in the holder to allow the larger diameter coilover shock to fit in. A pinch nut arrangement was then welded on to tighten the arm around the shock base. This worked great but sends the alignment out slightly. 2 snapped rear shocks later and we used some 200sx camber adjustable top mounts to replace the Bluebird ones. It was the only way to get it set up right. 7 months on and all is well. Took about 9hrs to do in all. Ride is very bouncy as the Bluebird weighs far more than a golf but it does sit well now.
