Anyone done this could answer a few questions ? Any old threads knocking around ?
Will it go on the S12 subframe using S12 or Z31 mounts ?
Will the S12 prop fit the Z31 NA gearbox ?
Is an upgraded pump needed or will the S12 one do ?

Try club s12, someone has done it but it is a very tight fit . You will most likely need custom transmission mounts,custom engine mounts and maybe a custom driveshaft. It doable but will be a lot of effort - its not like putting an fj20 in where everything sits in the same place! Check this out : club-s12.org/retro4/index.php?topic=15014.0 |

If I am not mistaken, US markets also got VG powered s12's as well. ...somewhere in the back of my mind I recall that there may be an issue between RHD vs LHD being easier for the swap... |

you will have a nightmare with the crossmember/steering rack and starter motor location. reason I scrapped idea of putting VG in my Laurel.
Will and Reece did a VG conversion a good few years back.
On a US factory VG S12 there s a lot of differences in manifolds, upper and lower plenum intake, all of which I think was done to aid them putting that engine into the S12. and also as stated a lhd stopping the starter issue.
I think maybe the easy option fitting one would be to try fitting a Z31 crossmember and rack etc that would remove the rack, starter issue

Well the guy picked up the lot and is set to the task. If anyone is interested, he will be putting up a thread od S12oc. He did have the shell in the FS section
