Now I've sold the Sunny, I thought I'd post a few pics of my other motors, both non-Nissans. 1992 Toyota Celica GTFour-RC One of only 5000 RC's made. These were the homologation vehicles produced so the car could enter the WRC, which of course it dominated for about 3 years with, among other, Carlos Sainz. This particular one was imported from Japan in 1998 via a spell in Cyprus. Only 76K. As a JDM version (1800 of the 5000 were for the Japanese market) it has electric folding mirrors, electric lumbar and bolster adjustment, plus aircon as well as climate control. Running 235bhp as standard when new. Some more info here... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Celica_GT-FourPics when I had it delivered... Some pics as it is now after some early improvements like a simple wash/polish, sticker removed and new plates I dropped it off today for a week with the bodyshop to get the small defects sorted and a respray. Double din head unit arrived today, and I'll be getting the aircon regassed next week. 1989 Audi 80 (B3) 1.8S My other car is a 1989 Audi 80 1.8S, with only 127K on the clock. It's only done 3,000 miles in the last 4 years. I picked this up for a song, with a full MOT, and it's going to be on the road from August 1st.

the Toyota looks pretty tame considering it was spec'd for homologation, esp with all the luxury bits like air con, lecy windows and seat control.
looks good for it though.
what wheels should it have?

The Celica came back from the bodyshop on Saturday, and I have to say, the fella did a brilliant job. All dents, rust and lacquer peel sorted, and it's all lovely and shiny shiny As for the Audi, it will be taked and on the road from Thursday, so it had a wash and polish today, as well as replacing the modern plates put on by a previous owner with the original dealer ones I found in the boot. These were the modern 3D ones... And much better with the original ones on... Smith, Knight & fay are still in Stockport, although now only selling VW's Looking forward to getting this one on the road. It's begging for a blast to clear the cobwebs, so it'll welcome the 65 mile run down the A19 to Saltburn on Teesside on Thursday

Spent today cleaning both engine bays. Audi first... As it was. 24 years of crud... As it finished... Then after I had a peanut Tracker for lunch, I moved to the Celica. As it was. Only 21 years of crud on this one!! And when I'd finished for the day...

Neither of them were too shabby to start with but the end result is good. Even the pieces of wood came up nice . Power hose or elbow grease? ...and what is that green frog looking thing?

Thanks.
The pieces of wood are there at the minute to keep the fusebox next to the battery where it should be, as the battery is quite a short one. The previous owner cobbled it together, but I'm going to sort something which looks better.
I would never use pressurised water in an engine bay. I've heard too many bad experiences, so it's not worth it for me. Just plain and simple elbow grease.
The green Crazy Frog gizmo is, I believe, a vacuum chamber for all the little vacuum valves around the carb and intake system.
I taxed the Audi this morning, and I was looking forward to giving it a run down to Teesside, but I tried to start the Celica to go to the Post Office for the Audi tax and I'd left the boot down but open all night, and it had flattened the battery. Doh! So a change of plan and I've brought the Celica the 65 miles down to my lass's house instead to give it a good re-charge. The Audi will have to wait until Monday now.

1995/96 was actually the 6th Generation Celica by then, but that's great. Thanks for the link, I'd forgotten about that.
