Just make sure that you buy genuine Nissan points and condensor. Other brands, that are probably not a lot cheaper, are likely to let you down. Just ask around .
Ebay or Datman (Will: 01342 321000) should supply you with the bits you want.

should be able to get service parts very easy. motor factors will have filters. just make sure they are quality Japanese items.
as for oil. again, make sure it's a decent brand, a 15/40 grade semi synthetic would be my choice.

I am not convinced of the semi-synthetic bit for our old engines. My old Bluebird (which uses no oil) has better oil pressure on startup /runs quieter with 15-40 mineral (Shell Helix) than with semi synthetic Castrol of same weight. And I wonder if hot old engines should maybe have the ...50 grade oil - after all, back in the 1970's & 80's, we would have poured in 20-50 wouldnt we? Juries out for me, and listening eagerly. Ed

the thing is there wasn't the same types of oil available when our cars were new. oil additives and production has come a long way in 25 years.
modern oils don't run as at as high a pressure as the older ones needed too, but still give protection. hence the lower weight. means less friction and thus more power and economy.
BUT, with a old design engine thats got miles and wear in it already it may be beneficial to use the heavier grade.
it's a subject that will get a lot of opinions, i'm not qualified to give a definitive answer, i just gather information and come to my own conclusions.
it needs a proper test engineer to do testing on a range of old engines. maybe there's something already been done?

Stick with good old Valvoline Oils, Works very good on performance, myself fill only quality valvoline Mineral or Semi syntetic. It also run very well on Mobil 1 full syntetic, i tried it because i won 6 bottels of them on the carshow. only oil i had that time, but was super!

i'd go 15/40 and a decent make. TBH Halfords seam to be the cheapest for Castrol so i go there
