Possibly something that Davehoos can answer,
This question is about the Z20 engine in a 1982 Nissan Cabstar F22.
It has 8 spark plugs (2 per cylinder), but only 4 of them are connected. The distributer cap only has 4 connections on top. It is running fine with only 4 plugs connected but here's the question:
If I were to buy the correct original distributer cap with 8 connections on top, and the correct arm, would they fit onto the same distributor? Do you think the whole distributor has been swapped at some stage or has somebody just changed the cap (and maybe arm)?
Any info much appreciated.
Thanks

Has the dizzy got one or two sets of points? If it's one set then how many lobes does the cam in the dizzy have? I have a feeling the proper ones for 8 plugs have dual points.
