My 27k k10 1.2 gsx 1991 ran beautifully up until a week or so again. It starts & idles okay but as soon as it's revved it splutters, hesitates & has no power.about 40pmh foot to the floor & than a huge back fire through the exhaust. I've changed the coil, rotor, dizzy cap, plugs, leads, temp sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter(all new parts). I've tried a second hand dizzy & set the timing.Fitted another hitachi carb.Checked all vacuum hoses. I'm seriously running out of idea's Like i've said it will start first time & idle happily.I even managed to get it half a mile up the road keeping the revs to a minimum(its an auto by the way).Stopped & popped in a shop for 20 mins, came out & it chugged all the way home! Anyone any idea's? Its a lovely little car in mint condition & worth saving but i'm seriously near the point where i'm going to get shot

I've changed the coil, rotor, dizzy cap, plugs, leads, temp sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter(all new parts). hopefully you haven't thrown away good Nissan parts and have replaced them with proper Nissan parts? I've found a lot of new pattern/motor factor parts either don't work or don't last. Like i've said it will start first time & idle happily.I even managed to get it half a mile up the road keeping the revs to a minimum(its an auto by the way).Stopped & popped in a shop for 20 mins, came out & it chugged all the way home! Anyone any idea's? have you checked fuel pressure? is it possible you've run the petrol out and sucked some much into the fuel pipe? could try blowing air back down the fuel pipe. Its a lovely little car in mint condition & worth saving but i'm seriously near the point where i'm going to get shot can you not take it to a garage...?

thanks for your reply Al.it's finding an 'old car friendly' garage! Yep i've kept all the original parts & bought genuine nissan ones where i could find them. I shall definitely give blowing down the fuel line a go.Thank you for that

Sound like something may have been sucked into the carb and is blocking a jet

Hi Northerner, thanks for that.Yes i though so as well but i swapped carbs for one i bought on ebay & the problem didn't go away. I did have to change a couple of parts over from my carb as the replacement wasn't exactly the same.So my last hope is it maybe one of those parts thats defective.
