Hi chaps, I joined here a couple of months back and have so far been a silent witness, so I thought I'd introduce myself! My name is Matt, I'm a 28 year old lorry driver from Gloucestershire and I live and breathe cars, been literally obsessing over them since I was in a pushchair according to the old dear I grew up around 70's and 80's kit, the old man was a bit of a boy when I was little so I spend my fairer years being blasted around in mk2 escorts, capris, mantas, Astra gte's etc. There were also a few japs in the family, namely my grandads fleet which, after a string of 7 beetles and 2 karmann ghias, included a 510 saloon, 2 120y's, a 140y and a couple of 70's corollas. My currents steeds are an e30 325i, an e36 sport touring, a 280bhp mk2 jetta turbo and a somewhat dishevelled '62 Volvo 121 amazon estate. Forgive my lack of intricate knowledge, I'm the kind of car person who knows a little bit about almost all cars, but borderline anorak on the models I actually own! I've never owned anything Japanese at all, but my love for 70's datsuns is growing daily! When I figure which one of my beloveds I could bear to part with, I will most certainly be making the jump. Owing to the fact I spend most of my free time ferrying around or collecting parts from all corners of the land, the decision has been made, so when the time (read money) comes, I shall be on the look out for a long bed 620, so from what I've seen on here I'm in the right place to recieve a bit of guidance/assistance! I'm on several forums, and as they go, this one come across as a really knowledgable and amicable crowd, so on that note, sorry for rambling and look forward to speaking to you guys in the future! Matt

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah I realise they are somewhat hard (impossible!) to come by over here. I have come across datman's name in a few threads which I've ended up in while digging around. He sounds very much like just the man I need! I liked a couple of datsun pages on Facebook which have majority US members/content, and it ain't half frustrating to see very useable 620's up for sale on almost a weekly basis, often for around $1500! I'll hazard a guess that £1000 probably wouldn't see me rolling on uk soil in one! What kind of money would one of these go for once it had landed here? Roughly? Matt

Matt if you don't mind left hand drive then £4000? if you want right hand drive you need an aussie truck, which will be a little more expensive due to shipping costs.

Hmmm I had that kind of figure in my mind, I think I would enjoy a right hooker more to be honest. I'm guessing shipping etc from aus would be around the £2000 mark, am I close?
I'm interested to learn more about the vehicle itself too, does anyone on here use one or have driven them extensively?
