I think it cost me £10, and did continue its life with Ratdat as a hack before it eventually got broken. I think the E10 is one of the models that typifies 1970s Japanese cars for many, I certainly remember lots from my youth. I recall going with my dad to look at one in 1984/85, we turned up on the estate where they'd said it was and started looking around what we thought was the right one, only to realise we'd got the wrong house and it was around the corner - there were still that many around back then that two identical ones could be found so close together. Quite a few people have said a 100A was the first brand new car they'd bought, often replacing a Mini - the E10 would have been a logical step up. This is certainly the case for my stepdad, it paved the way for several more Datsuns he had over the years.
