Hi guys I have just bought a 1988 Bluebird and would like to upgrade the steel wheels and scruffy trims with a set of period alloys, does anyone know the wheel size specs I should be searching for?

Well thats a bit of an open book. It all depends on how you want your car to look? You could go for an OEM look with something like 14x5.5 or 14x6. You could go for a modified look with anything up to a 17s or an 18s if you really wanted to. Or you could go for an old school modified look with some wide 14s or 15s...... and even go silly wide with arch extensions if u wanted. All down to how you want it to look really. We had some fun with my mates old Bluey and stuck on my 14x9 retro Jap rims for a trial.......... would of looked awesome with wide arches and a lot lower It ended up on some narrower 15s tho

I was thinking OEM or old school 14s or 15s would look good, what are the pcd, offsets etc i should be looking for?
The jap wheels in your photos look fantastic, but agree it would need a major drop to complete the look, am I right in thinking that these cars are not easy to lower?

PCD on these is 4x114.3 or 4x4.5inch. offset and wheel size, also tyre size, will again depend on what you want it to look like.
can't see how it would be hard to lower. it's only coil springs all round. 50mm should be easy, but as typical with any car, anything more will get a lot more involved.
