Now that's something I'd like to see more of. Any chance of some pics and more info about the car? Nigel & Mark, I think I'm one number out - 9 not 10, although something at the back of my mind tells me there is another one somewhere. My '71 1400 This is the 'OWL' registered 1300 - belongs to Jon/Ed. This is Lee's 1300, used to be a regular at the Bromley Pageant. Billys car, and the earliest known UK car. Has a fantastic period record player in it too! Jons other 510 - the only current known estate. This has some Datsun UK history to it - I can't recall exactly the story but the name Frank Whittle comes to mind. They imported the estate version into the UK sometime after they discontinued the saloon. I believe Jon is close to getting this back on the road. Ants car Finally Ed's well known example. That leaves Raymond's car up in Scotland, a very beautifully finished sedan in West London and my car makes it 9. I also found an image of the one that was really very rotten at Ed's sometime in 2001. This is Brian Gardners unique example, imported into the UK in 1972. This is Jon Rowes imported car. Ed's recently imported example

As I recall, the estate PLD934L was for many years owned by Frank Riddle (you were close with the name!), who was the Type Approval manager at Datsun UK. He's the chap I inherited the files etc from which allow me to do build date certificates, give details to the Police etc. It appeared in DOC mag #26 and was then owned by someone called John Muchene.
It's quite a late one, I think it overlaps with 610 saloon and coupe because there was no estate in the 610 range to start with?
As regards other 510s (relatively) recently seen, John Muchene had anothere estate XKO442J which was red and I think had an L18 engine. DVLA says nothing on that one since 2002.
Back in a 1996 issue of the DOC magazine there was a blue 1400, CNX550J. DVLA says untaxed since '96.
