Interesting, one or two mistruths/mistakes to be expected given the Daily Mail's record....
DVLA says the Primera is no longer listed (presume scrapped and Certificate of Destruction issued); S12 made it to 1997; B310 Sunny to 1998; B210 1992 and the F10 1991.

You guys can look up if the car is still licenced / tagged by running the numbers on the plates? We (USA) can`t get any of that kind of information anymore... Well i guess if you know someone in the dept of motor vehicles you could. Cool story, would be cool to look thru all the guys pictures from the past..

The price of his first Cherry in 1974 is way off. Should be more like £1100. The 140J was £1400 in that year and small cars didn't break the £3.5k bracket until at least 1980.

The old saying.... "More money than sense" might be appropriate here. I would expect EVERY car to be reliable for at least the first year. So, buying and selling them within that time must have cost him/her/them a small fortune with depreciation etc. although they probably only did about 100 miles a year ...... why would you? Cheaper to hire a cab, maybe?
Mind you, my Mum is the same. Pays an exorbitant amount of money to "The Prudential" for her Fully Comp. Insurance on her 10 year old Clio (worth not-a-lot) because "They look after me and I've always used them; I don't want to change..." and then drives less than 1,000 miles.
Hopefully, I'll never get like that.

I pay fully comp on my Camry that's only worth a few hundred pounds, the price is barely any different and it gets me windscreen cover.

Just shows you how much bull there is in newspapers, especially that one in particular. Never let facts or truth get in the way of a quick story. Quantity.. not quality.
