Have a K10 micra 1.2 which has started to hesitate when putting the foot down. Mostly first gear but started to happen in higher gears. So far replaced the leads, dist cap, rotor, new battery but still no luck. Normally the carbs are fine on this car and it is low miles but used regularly. Any tips? Sparks were replaced about 4k ago along with the cam belt and water pump. Haven't done the (halfords) fuel filter (stupidly) but am getting a new one from japarts. Any ideas for the technically incompetent?

has the ignition timing been checked? could that or vacuum hoses have been disturbed when the other work was carried out?

Replaced the vacuum hoses so will check those. Ignition timing, well Al I might get you to check that when I get you up to do the mazdat's leaky rocker cover gasket. I sit at a keyboard all day and when I get near wrenches bad things happen...Will has often suffered my "assistance" when down with him! Want to sell the car soon to make driveway space for my new silly purchase.

It's, erm, a Soarer V8...The old man always wanted one but could never afford it in NZ and since he died not long ago I thought what the heck, something to remember the old boy by.
