I have been searching through the internet for months in order to find a detailed list of all the accesories and differences with the standard, GX and SSS models. From what I know is that GX was available with Hitachi SU dual carbs, had GX badges and a little bit different interior, but I have not found any solid info on this. Also the New Zealand only SSS model is only mentioned a few times in the Datsun 1200 Tech Wiki, but other than that I haven't found what kind of specs or trim this model featured. If anyone knows more detailed info on these models I would be grateful .

I have a B210 GX and the diferences are basically what you state. The SSS was a local model for the Australian market only.

Did they use 60-series transmission combined with the H150 differential and L14 engine? Also umtali could you provide a list of changes with the interior compared to the standard model? If so I am tempted to convert my car to L14 At the moment I have a strange combination of redesign version of A12, 56-series transmission and H150 differential. From what I have read to combination where either old A12 + 56 trans + H145 or new A12 or larger + 60 series + H150. The car should be stock from the factory aside from exhaust. Interior seems like it could be GL version, but it doesn't have any badges to prove this. The badges it has are original standard version ones. From what I can see from the Finnish manual is that we were not given any trims, but rather the cars came with accessories that were chosen when ordering the car.

First of all this is exclusively a RHD model - sold only in Japan and South Africa. This photo shows clearly the diferences between the models ... As for the transmission, it uses a standard 4-speed L-series gearbox but regarding conversion, your best bet is to go A14 ... the front suspension/brakes is totally different to the 120Y models

Thank you for the picture. The interior seems completely different from what I have in mine. I love that wood paneled center console. Aside the offtopic, from what I have read from the manual in Finland we were given only a few accessories from those offered in the GL & GX trims. I can check and provide detailed information on what were the offered accessories in Finland . EDIT: Here is a list of optional extra accessories mentioned in the Finnish user manual. The only ones I am missing at the moment are the clock and tachometer . - Tachometer - AM Radio - Clock - Center console - Front seat headrests - Adjustable seats in De Luxe and Coupe models (I have these so that's why I believe mine is De Luxe) - Brake fluid warning light In fact I did some calculations and it seems that fitting the L14 engine would require me to do a lot of modifications to make it street legal in Finland. The basic law is that you are allowed to have +25% displacement, +20% power in HP, +20% engine weight. You could use a model outside of Finland as a comparative to which your build could be based like the 160Z, but then all the technical parts must be the same as that. I was thinking of either adding Hitachi SU twin carbs + A12 GX cam to my A12 or just going with A14 engine. Both cost about the same for me. For gearbox I am updating to 60-series 4-speed from B310 as I got a good offer for one. P.S: A friend of mine just told me I could use the carage at his workplace so I guess that the project will advance during next few weeks .
