I know my car is brown and (most of it) is a stock Datsun colour, but the sticker that gives me the colour code under the bonnet is blank!? I have to paint some parts of the body but am struggling to match some paint. Here is my car...... I did find this on a Datsun page on Facebook and thought "Brown Metallic 609" looked right but i had a tester made up and it was way to light and coppery Any help would be great thanks

Anytime i've asked a paint shop to supply a colour for an old car from a paint code it comes out wrong. best giving them a panel to match it up to as well. such as the fuel filler door.

I just need a few cans of cheap aerosol Halfords Stylee as it's only a cheap tempory job! Don't want to spend nearly £20 a can from a proper paint shop!

i very much doubt Halfords will have an old datsun colour off the shelf....
and what they do have will be near on ten quid a can anyway

They have datsun colours on the system at halfords and they can mix them..... Lots cheaper than paint shops and cheaper with my trade discount :-)

not sure how they'd be cheaper?
my paint shop are around 7quid a can mixed up i think. i don't tend to buy it in a can, i'd use a proper gun.
plus being metallic you'll need a lacquar too

Ditto.... Got a huge bogoff size spray-can made up by computer matching for around £10.00. I think the halford's cans will be smaller.

Last time I got aerosols made up from a paint shop it cost me around £15-18 a can and they weren't big either Does anyone know what the paint code is 'supposed' to be anyway?
