I have new 15x8 alloy wheels that I'm looking to fit to my Laurel C130 but just need some clarification on tyre sizes. I'm being told to go for 195,55,15 on the fronts and 205,50,15 at the rear to give the car a nice aggressive look. I'm being told by some that 195's on the front are too narrow though. I have Japanese book on the C130's and some of them guys are running a 195 tyre on a 15x8 wheel.
I know some of you guys are up to speed on this type of thing so your advice is most welcome ...
Thanks

When I went from 13" to 15" I was advised to keep the rolling circumference of the wheels and tyres so that the speedo still reads correctly. As it happens, this meant that to maintain the rolling circumference I had to have lower profile tyres. As such, the handling has improved sooooo much, it's like driving a different car. The width of the tyre is limited but, strangely, despite fitting slightly wider tyres it didn't make the steering heavier (no power steering here, us Datsun drivers have muscles!).

my C230 Laurel was on 195 50 15's on 8x15's.
have now changed over to 205 55 15 on 9x15's as i wanted it to sit a little higher but still fill the arches.
i'd say go for 195 50's and lower it quite a bit. 205 will be to wide to lower it much at the rear as you've only got a live axle and no camber.

if the tyres are standard 175x14 then 195-65x15 would keep the same diameter.if 195-65 is too narrow then 205-60.ive got 185 on my 8" back wheel.

Ok, thanks lads.
Looks like i'll either go 195.50 or 195.55. A 55 profile keeps me near enough to the rolling radius without upsetting the speedo too much, although the 50 would look better.
