Hi to all. I´m new in this forum and I want to know if somebody has upgraded the front brakes in a 430 (280C). My car have solid front disk brakes and in U.S.A is a popular conversion to early Z-cars (S30) to swap calipers from single piston to 4 piston s12-8 sumitomo calipers from light toyota trucks. This is a bolt-on conversion that no requires modifications. The 430 have the same brake pads than the S30, but different caliper. ¿Somebody know if the S12-8 calipers are a direct fit to the 430?
Thank´s in advance.

wow. tough ask. can't imagine anyone in the UK has tried this? i'd love to be corrected though.
i don't remember the brakes on my 330 being underpowered. what state are the current discs in? also what are the rear drums like?
i have also heard about 4 pot hi lux calipers being used to upgrade old Datsuns. would imagine most Japanese pickups could yield bigger brake calipers, but the cedric brake discs themselves will prob be the limiting factor. larger discs will mean more leverage and will certainly improve performance.
i'd also look at the more powerfull, never Nissans. S14 200sx, Y30 300c etc.

Actually the brakes are good: New pads and shoes, drums were machined however I want to improve braking because this are quite heavy cars.
My intention is to replace only the calipers. According to my research, disk brakes in S30 and 430 are the same except for the bolt pattern. I want to know if calipers are direct fit and if exists clearence trouble with stock 5,5 x 14 aluminium wheels.
With this mod I expect a little more pedal travel but better braking with the increase pad area.
