Not a bad way to spend the weekend. I can't wait to start on mine.

Is this an L16? I assume the lack of twin carbs would make this a low compression model? If so, is this a dish in the piston to achieve this as compared to the SSS models?

Are you sticking with the original pistons or is L motor parts too rare over there to mix and match? What kinda head you got on there?
AND: Yes i do feel like i'm asking questions like a 2 year old on sugar..

long time ago I bought a load of new performance parts to rebuild the engine when I still had it in my 200B with plans on a full rebuild but a good friend talked me into dropping a VG30E into my 200b and my L20B (40k mile) engine was dry stored
the engine will be far from stock when it's all back together. Pistons - 1mm over sized with a small dish (still to measure) but it's looking like 4.36cc rather than the 11.36cc dish used in the stock L20 pistons this will increase the compression ratio Cylinder heads, in the last couple years of using the L20 I had swapped it over to a mild ported W53 closed chamber and I will be using this or my new old stock A87 which will be opened up to match the twin webber/delorto/mikuni etc carb manifold Cam - I got a new cam with the largest lift/duration possible that could be used on stock lash pads along with adjustable sprocket.

finally after the saga datsunclubuk.proboards.com/thread/3060/cylinder-head-express?page=1&scrollTo=16095 managed to get the engine block completely decontaminated and ready for build. I have some other parts on order (upgraded oil pump and ARP bolt sets (mains rods and headbolts ) Cylinder head is being ported matched. once the head is back I need to check my head gaskets for clearance due to bore oversize. then i'll be ready to assemble
