The diff in my 610sss is very noisy. Will any more modern (easily obtained) diff direct swap?

Andrew, have a look at Subarus from 2001- 2006. They used the same R160 made by Fuji Heavy Industries and LSD as well. Assuming your car is still L series powered, then this will be adequate. Possibly a good range of ratio's to choose from as well :-)

I know of a field full of Subaru Imprezzas rotting into the ground is you need a diff, I counted 8 last time I was there, in Canterbury, I know the guy, it will be cheap.
