I saw a TV programme a day or so ago (Click-BBC) and they were showing a new car (can't recall the make) whereby they have replaced the glass rear view door mirrors with rear-facing cameras that send the image to a door mounted CCTV screen (that now replaces the glass rear view mirror.) I just wonder how much that will cost you when someone clips your mirror in passing and shatters the screen! I also wonder as to which D-ckH--d thought that this is a good idea. Methinks it must come direct from the car manufacturers looking to have the car "written off" when the cameras/screen get damaged and then they can sell you a new car. You couldn't make it up..... could you?

I think people are paid to make up stuff like this. Another 'take it to the dealer to get it fixed'. Ive heard of bmw/mercs having most of the equipment 'coded' to the cars via canbus. This is the reason I prefer older cars, easier to fix, just a pain sometimes sourcing parts.
