I have seen and driven this, when it lived near me in Redhill. Very good condition. Would not be a good idea to just drive it through the winter, it will rapidly dissolve.

Ah no. The more miles the better. Had an 81 B310coupe for nearly 4years jus before i bought this 1. Daily driven all that time hail rain snow and ice. Got a little crusty, but hey, got life back into her... White wagon getting rivet on ZG arches very soon to fit my new 14x11 Wats on the rear. Shame to drill, but gots to be done

Shame to drill, but gots to be done You could always bond them on. When it is time to sell, the new owner has the option to remove without damage.....

Big wide rubber on the back would be really handy with erm 52 bhp. Why not rip out that mint interior too and fit MX5 seats that would totally trash it!. Glad I read this thread I won't be selling any of my cars ever! No doubt the original owner is delighted his cherished old car is going to be turned into puff daddy's ride.. Same old story. How long before this one is climbing onto a scrapheap ? That's another very rare car ruined then. I'll keep an eye out for it on Ebay it will be up for sale needing sills, door bottoms etc. in a few years as the new owner inevitably gets bored and blows his budget on ridiculous chav wheels and not a scrap of rustproofing. Might prove me wrong I don't personally know the new owner . No offence intended but it doesn't look good for possibly 1 of 2 remaining B310 estates....

We must accept that, once we sell our cars, it is up to the new owner to do as they wish. I am more of a "purist" (as they call it) and like my cars to be much as was originally intended. That said, I have put some period Supaslots on and a few fun-stickers on the doors, bonnet, boot etc. Others here like to "slam" their cars and have them riding about 2" (5cm) off the ground . It's all good stuff... because they're all Datsuns/Nissans!!

Agreed once the car is sold it's up to the new owner to do with whatever they wish....even if that means ruining the car. I don't have a problem with the reversible stuff like wheels or stickers if that's your thing..it's just the whole brainless it's cool to abuse a very rare old car culture that pisses me off.
I sold a very solid rwd 5 speed sunny a few years ago that had brush painted stripes applied (always a bad sign) before being road raced and ended up being crushed when the back axle broke of it's mountings on a speed hump. Never even made it to it's next mot.
Then there was the near mint 73 100a that was scrapped within weeks of sale because of a blown head gasket.
If folk want to "slam" something why not pick a car that exists in the hundreds.. not on a handful of survivors?. And the way in which these cars are 're-engineered' is alarming as any MOT tester knows. Springs falling out, brake pipes chafing, manky rot trap wheel arches that have been 'rolled' with a claw hammer, generally rotten bodywork because the owner spends all their time on the bling crap and forgets the boring rustproofing stuff. Some cars are done well but many others are deathtraps. And why do this so that the car is worth less money, potentially more dangerous, less reliable and an absolute pain in the arse to drive day to day?.

[/b][/quote] You know why people choose to do this sort of thing? Because they are the owner, and they can do exactly what they wish to do to it. I get where you're coming from in general though, I really do. It'd be a shame if this chap modifies it badly to the point where it doesn't survive, but who can say that's what will happen. Perhaps this chap is a 10/10 with the spanners. Time will tell. Everyone has different standards and values, things they treasure and hold dearly, but one thing you can't do is ban people from modifying the cars that they own, whether that car is a rare Datsun or one of a trillion surviving Ford Focus's. Got to live and let live.

Cant for the life of me upload pics using my phone. All opinions appreciated, as wouldn't it be very boring to stick to everyones taste. I now have it pretty much looking how i want it. Fender mirrors, rivet on arches and 14x11 rear wheels. Im delighted how it turned out. Well aware its not to everyones taste, buy hey, im making it my own. She's driven every single day and turns heads no end. Everyone wants to chat about her. I love my Sunny to pieces as im Datsun to the bone always have been. No offence taken to any critique. Im Jonny Ace on Facebook, feel free to have a look at my car pics there. Hakosuka chin spoiler is the final piece, and arriving soon. That should chav it up nicely for me. My car, my way, my thing. Almost certainly not for mainstream, middle'of'the'road dullards... Enjoy my pics I really love my wagon, and am impenetrable to negativity. If anything it makes the bond i have with her stronger.
