I've stripped an a14 engine and visible pitting is to head and block. Anyone any 'Do's and don'ts' regarding skimming, IE how much maximum.
Cheers.

You need to take it to whoever will be doing the work to see what they think really

Well it's been done. Block and head skimmed, decoked, blasted andwashed. Crank ground with new big end and main bearings. Honed bores and waiting rings.
Before the rebuild though I want it painted in heat proof paint. Any suggestions? Needs to as near the original blue as possible.
Ta in advance!

I asked this a couple weeks back here. There were lots of opinions and no real answers. The closest I found was 18 C 39 Fathom blue / Deep river / Dolphin. My block has been dipped and machined now so need to get some made up.

Cheers for reply! I've been looking myself and there is some paint on eBay. Its a ford engine colour. Type in sp138 paint and let me know your thoughts.
Cheers

I'll pay a visit to the paint shop and see what they can do.
