From 1st October it will be illegal to smoke in a car or other vehicles with anyone under 18 present. The law is changing to protect children and young people from the dangers of second-hand smoke.
Both the driver and the smoker could be fined £50.
The law applies to every driver in England and Wales, including those drivers aged 17 with a provisional licence.
The law does not apply if the driver is 17 years old and is on their own in the car.

I don't believe it does as it doesn't with a convertible. Still legal to smoke as a pregnant woman though... Go figure... |

The convertible must have it's roof fully down. As regards the pregnant woman, they make the choice to smoke whereas others (under 18) in the car don't have that choice; the smoking gets "inflicted" on them. 'Nuff said?
