Hey Guys, I've had the engine and gearbox out of my 140z. Before soda blasting and welding as it's coming up to winter in England I'm going to start replacing every bolt as there all seized and replacing them with all new copper greased ones will makes everything smoother. So this isn't my first rodeo ... I bought a selection of 7/16" 3/8" M10, M12 bolts... The radius rod ends are held on to the front valance by a bracket, I replaced those bracket bolts with 7/16" ones... That's as far as I got... I couldn't even tell you what the cross member bolt sizes are, Not a clue on the steering idler arm bolts... If there's no female threaded parts on the car i'm just going to replace the bolts with stainless steel m10 and m12 as I doubt the Datsun police will get me! But where there's threaded parts on the car has anyone got any bolt sizes they can recommend that are useful for a 120y b210 rebuild. This car is a mish-mash of Japanese and South African parts I suspect. Thanks Jerome

Can't comment on South African built cars but a normal 120Y etc is all metric. M5 M6 M8 M10 M12 and possibly a couple of M14 The wheel studs for example are M12 x 1.25. The only exception to this is the seatbelt bolts which are imperial (7/16) presumably due to some kind of ancient English type approval thing.

Shouldn't you also think about the strength of the bolts (or set screws) - I am aware that these can be differing strengths - eg those mounting suspension arms may be higher grade & stronger than those mounting an exhaust. Or at least I hope so .... Agree with Datman (of course ....) - haven't found a non metric head on my 910 excepting the seat belt mounts. Recall I had real problem finding imperial nuts to make a couple of spreader plates for my rear seat belts - after I sourced the nuts I realised that I could have used old Ford wheel nuts..... Ed
