Although the pics aren't that clear, it seems to me that they are about the right colour to expect when the mixture is correct. If you look in the front of any Haynes manual you will see some pics of spark plugs and the related condition of the mixture. That said, the best way to check the mixture is to get a garage to check it or try a DIY colourtune (Ebay have loads). You should check that all the plugs are the same colour (just in case you have only taken one out to show us). If there is any difference then it may indicate, for example, valve or rings issues. Is this why you are asking?

thanks for that Leigh.I've just bought a 93 vanette that once warm was spluttering & there was a strong smell of petrol.I thought the mixture was too rich but all four plugs are like this. I think you're right best take it somewhere to check.it did go straight through emissions on it's test a month ago.
