I wonder if the MK1 Golf GTI spoiler fits also to a Cherry N10. @alramone: Do you still remember the brand?

Apart from the look, do they actually do anything to improve handling (especially if you're only doing legal road speeds....) ?

Doubtful, but then that's not really the purpose of fitting one on most cars... it's more about style. It would probably have some effect at speed. My 510 was considerably more stable over 100mph when I fitted a BRE replica spoiler, however it did have the trade off of making the brakes run hotter on the track as it had no brake cooling ducts. They stop a lot of air passing under the car, hence the reduction of lift. This also has the added bonus of lowering under bonnet temps too.

No good 'round my way...... too many speed humps. Just when you discover another "rat run" the local authority stick in another hump section. I am a member of a local Resident's Association and speeding regularly comes up as a gripe (as does the dreaded Learner Drivers using the side-streets ). So, the local neighbourhood Police team went out and did several days of speed traps. The report came back to the committee showing that 85% of the offenders were.... the local residents! Ha, Ha! oh and i've no idea on the make of spoiler that i fitted. it's not a proper VW one though. i just looked on ebay for the cheapest VW mk1 golf GTI spoiler.
bear in mind there are two different sizes. mines the deep one, same as fitted to GTI's
a few of the VW specialists sell em. euro car parts, big boys toys, GFS etc
